Do you love watching the famous The National Dog Show Presented by Purina every Thanksgiving? Well, now there’s even more of a reason to watch!
With the help of every single one of us, the organization is going to donate the contributions to help provide relief to people and pets affected by hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
How can I participate?
Great question! It’s super simple.
From November 16 to 26, all you have to do is make a post on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram telling them why your dog is the best, including the tag @purina and the hashtag #DogThanking. For every unique-canine centered post they receive, Purina will be donating $1 to GreaterGood.org (up to $50,000 total). The organization is then using those contributions to donate to hurricane relief.
Last year’s broadcast of the show broke their record, reaching more than 22 million viewers! If all of those people take the time to make a post, Purina will easily be able to donate $50,000 to the organization. So set your calendars for November 16!
I’ve never seen the dog show — what is it?
The National Dog Show Presented by Purina is presented by NBC every year (for the past 15 years) on Thanksgiving day. This year, it will air on Thanksgiving, November 23 from noon to 2 p.m. for all time zones.
Plenty of celebrities are in on the dog-loving action, too. John O’ Hurley will be back to host the event, and David Frei will offer commentary on all of the breeds competing for Best of Show. Olympic stars Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski will be backstage, and Mary Carillo will be doing benchside reporting.
There will be more than 2,000 dogs this year!
Hopefully you will be participating in this awesome campaign. We would love to see your posts, so if you make one, include the hashtag #99CentRazor so we can see them and give your pup some love!
