No matter how long you’ve been shaving, it can sometimes be difficult to know how to shop for the razor blades that are right for you. That’s why we’ve put together a guide on how to choose the ones that are perfect for your shaving needs!

We also give you some info about our razors and razor blades at the end of the post.

Is the number of razor blades actually important?

The simple answer is no, not too much. It’s a pretty common misconception that the higher the number of blades you have, the better quality the blades are.

In reality, the important thing is that the blades are of a high quality, no matter how many there are.

Choose a shaving razor with flexible blade heads.

Something that will really help is making sure that you choose razor blades that have a flexible head. This way, the razor will move to the contours of your face, neck, legs, or anywhere else that you choose to shave. That will make for a much easier and nick-free shave!

You’re more likely to cut yourself when blades stay stationary, rather than move with the curves of your body. Along with this, having an ergonomically designed razor handle helps out a ton, too!

How often should I be changing my razor blades?

It’s hard to put an exact number on when you should be changing your razor blades (or razor if you use disposables), because everyone shaves at different frequencies and everyone has different amounts of hair that they shave.

A lot of people say that, ideally, you should be replacing razor blades about every five to seven uses. But, again, that might not be the case for everyone.

The best way to know when to change your razor blades is when you have to put more effort in to shave. If you find yourself having to press down harder on the razor to get hair off, then it’s probably time to change your blades.

Of course, someone with thicker hair who shaves almost every day is most likely going to need to change their razor blades more often than someone who has thin hair and only shaves once a week.

So, I have sensitive skin… what should I look for in my razor blades?

Folks with sensitive skin can often have trouble finding razor blades that work for them. Okay, let’s face it, people with sensitive skin often have trouble finding any beauty products that work for them!

There are a few key things that you should look for in a razor blade:

  • A pivoting head (yes, we mentioned this before, but it’s worth mentioning because it is very helpful for sensitive skin.)
  • Some sort of moisturizer or lubrication on the blades (Vitamin E, aloe, or lotion strips)
  • Flow-through blades (these allow you to rinse your blades easier, which helps ensure that the blades are clean every time you use them)

So, where can I find a good selection of razor blades?

You’re in luck, because we offer a great selection of razors and razor blades at 99 Cent Razor. We have three different types, so you’re bound to find something that works for you.

I’ll go a bit into detail for each one so that you can get a feel of the qualities of each one and figure out what works for you!

You also can just purchase straight from the site without a subscription, so you can choose when exactly you want your blades delivered, or stock up on them!
